  • We are a church IN our community, FOR our community. We love providing fun, family friendly activities to help our community thrive. We (obviously) believe in the work, the hope, the life and the community of Restoration Church so we want as many people to know who we are and what we're about. This is one way to introduce our community to Restoration in a fun way.

clue 1

Glycerine dripped like morning dew, making a pond for doves and turtles to

swim,

little things among giants . A

monkey came forth from the forest floor, it's

body covered in briar and mud, like an

alien among us.

Comedown said the turtle, be clean, everything's fine, everything's good,

everything zen in this pond. The monkey

swallowed, gathered its courage, shunned the

distant voices of fear and shame and jumped, making

history as the first swimming monkey.

The red words above are all related to the band BUSH, primarily their first album. This was to indicate it was in a bush :)

clue 2

The answer to clue 1 looks like Poppy's older sister.

Poppy is a character from the movie Trolls. Her older sister is Viva. Viva has wild, tall, yellow hair, like the bush/grass it was hidden in.

clue 3

there are 4 intelligible words/word combinations that are longer than 3 letters in this puzzle. find them for an important clue to the egg's whereabouts.

the words can go in any direction.

the four words are "trump", "silver", "new mexico", "jack morris" These are all references to the number 47, a reference to the zip code it was in.

clue 4

Joe, John and Jake met Jim and Jared for a walk north. Along their journey they stopped by Bernard and Norman's but decided to keep going further.

5 guys are mentioned, referencing the restaurant. Bernard and Norman were the founders of TJ Maxx. If you drew a line from 5 Guys through TJ Maxx you'd arrive at/near the egg.

clue 5

Nora sat alone on a park bench, watching people look for a golden egg as she waited for her friend. Oliver, her dog, sat idly by her side, eating grass and licking up puddles. Tempted to join before her friend arrived, she got to her feet and glanced around. A man by a bush yelled that he found it, but it was a only a shiny rock. "Too many hours wasted," he murmured.

Another happy hunter frustrated by being so close...yet so far.

"Perhaps I'll try a different park," he thought as he got in his car and drove away.

Anthony, the friend, finally arrived with the game plan. "Research helps," he said as he laid out the map on the park bench (it was marked up with red marker). "Keep looking in the bushes, that guy was on to something."

Take each capital letter and it'll read "NOT AT A PARK"

clue 6

Viva got a haircut.

After the egg was placed, the bush/grass it was in was cut down - hence the haircut.

clue 7

The archer stands

where the coveted object rests

and aims his arrow south

What does an archer aim at? A target. Target was directly south of the egg.

clue 8

The archer pivots at the coveted location...

the sun is high in the sky...

he raises his bow in quick defense...

but lowers it...

What he hears is not a threat...

but the song of patriots in the distance...

A "pivot" is a 90 degree turn in military speak. The archer is now aiming at MIssion BBQ who stops their work to sing the national anthem everyday at noon.

clue 9

If his arrows are lines

then "x" marks the spot.

Draw lines from target - North and from Mission BBQ - West and they would cross at the egg.

clue 10

Once "Viva" matures, she'll look more like Fuzzbert.

The grass was only yellow because of winter. Once it grows it would be green.

clue 11

Anyone else feel like their head is scrambled?

REady to give up by this confused game?

Doing this quest is leaving my brain muddled

Not just for you, the hunters...making these clues is leaving me jumbled.

SInging sometimes helps ease my disorganized mind.

Gotta cope with the chaos somehow.

Under different circumstances, the bewilderment might be peace.

Not this time...this is leaving me perplexed.

The first, capital, letters are scrambled but when organized read "UNDER A SIGN"

clue 12

"I love red, orange and yellow."

"Nice! I love purple, teal, and pink."

"Why'd you put it like that?"

"Like what?"

"With a pause after teal?"

"It changed the meaning - did you intend this?"

"How so? It's merely preferential."

"It's less formal."

"So. Who cares? I'm a pretty informal guy."

This clue is a reference to the "oxford comma." It's what the clue is describing. The egg was hidden under the Oxford Valley Mall sign.
